helium creative Hosts A “Farewell To FATVillage” Retrospective Branding + Design Exhibit on June 27, 2015

June 10, 2015 – Fort Lauderdale, FL – helium creative, the branding and design studio behind the FATVillage arts district visual identity, will now be bringing its creative energy and inspirational events to a new location in the North Beach Village Restaurants & Shoppes on Galt Ocean Mile.

The 11-year-old branding studio has purchased a building at 3327 NE 32nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, which owner Chris Heller and Art Director Ryan Sirois look forward to transforming into an eclectic, inspiring destination.

To commemorate the transition, helium creative will host a “Farewell To FATVilllage” branding and design exhibit during this month’s FATVillage ARTWALK on Saturday, June 27th from 6-10pm. Work from their many branding projects will be displayed to give an inside look at their unconventional process and how a brand is brought to life through great design. helium’s departure from FATVillage is bittersweet and the team invites friends, neighbors and acquaintances to leave a message on their Farewell to FATVillage chalk wall during the event.

Heller is looking forward to the evening and stated “a primary motivator driving helium’s success has been developing a community, an environment for people to have a creative destination and outlet for expressing ideas and sharing information.”

inside the tank: Veer Towers branding process

For this month’s look inside the tank we’re giving you a peek at a project we’re VERY excited about; Veer Towers on the Las Vegas strip. The Veer Towers are a set of twin 37-story, 480-foot residential buildings offering exquisite condominiums in the heart of Citycenter, Las Vegas’ ultimate destination for dining, gaming, shopping & entertainment. Incomparable amenities and an unbeatable location come together for an enviable lifestyle that takes luxury in an exciting new direction. Blah, blah, blah.

I know what you’re thinking; another luxury building on the Las Vegas strip, big deal. This my friends, is a big deal. First off, the architecture alone is amazing. The two towers were designed by Murphy/Jahn Architects of Chicago and lean in opposite directions (five degrees from center; literally veering). Every residence has a view of the Las Vegas skyline. Lobbies and public spaces were developed by Francisco Gonzalez Pulido and showcase works by natural light. Dianna Wong Architecture & Interior Design designed the residences. While we can spit out all of these facts and proclaim it’s beauty one still can’t really get emotionally attached to Veer Towers without imagery and copy; that’s where helium comes in.

The helium creative team took a field trip to visit the Veer Towers in Las Vegas to get fully immersed in the Veer experience. The team toured the building, model condominium units and the amenities, checked out the competition and explored what Vegas and the surrounding environ has to offer in terms of lifestyle. Afterwards, discussion and brainstorming ensued where the team realized that Veer Towers offer not only a 360 degree view of the Las Vegas strip but a 360 degree lifestyle. From the luxury, glitz, and glam of fine dining, night clubs, gambling and shows to mountains, camping and hiking to movie night in the comfort of your own home, Veer Towers offer a standard of living encompassing everything and more.

How does one convey that with a brand? It starts with a super fun brainstorming session where the team members contribute his or her initial impressions, word associations and feelings about the brand.

Identification of statements that convey the emotion of the brand; in this instance “Some people choose to follow, others are born to veer” and “Why live a good life, when you can live the best life” help to create a connection between prospective buyers and the product. The designer working on the project then develops a mood board with inspirational images and potential marketing material concepts.

Inside the Tank: Conrad Beach Residence Branding Process

When approaching most things in life there is a methodology and the same goes for the helium creative branding process. In working with a new client the first step is to evaluate their current marketing materials, which includes anything with their name on it. From website, to business cards, brochures, letterhead, envelopes, etc. We brainstorm ideas to enhance the brand experience and identity while ensuring that the core values are visually communicated effectively.

Conrad Beach Residences on Fort Lauderdale Beach is a client we are currently working with to clearly establish them as a purveyor of the simple luxuries in life; an idea that epitomizes the laidback lifestyle embraced by many in the city of Fort Lauderdale. It was necessary to create a distinct identity for the Conrad Beach Residences so that consumer’s who value that type of lifestyle and property would naturally be attracted to it and want to invest in a beach residence.

Our understanding of Fort Lauderdale and the Conrad brand brought us to the simple luxuries concept.  We approach the design and creation of this brand experience in a way that is authentic and speaks volumes.
